DESCRIPTION //
NetworKrino was a project that encouraged informal, self-directed learning through open conversations within the KRINO association. The name combines the word “network” with the Italian suffix -ino (denoting something small) and our organization’s name, reflecting a grassroots approach to knowledge exchange.
Rather than traditional academic formats like seminars or panels, NetworKrino emphasized accessible, in-depth discussions on timely topics in digital cultures. Its goal was to surface the diverse skills and interests within our network while avoiding overly technical jargon or simplistic narratives and polarizing viewpoints.
In the first phase, association members collaboratively researched and selected three pressing themes.
Then, for each meeting, a dedicated contact person from the association was responsible for organizing, coordinating, and facilitating the event. Additionally, an external expert on the meeting’s subject matter was invited to share preparatory sources, introduce the theme, and engage in discussions with attendees.
The effort was to equip participants with foundational guidance that went beyond common clichés, offering them textual references and resources to delve deeper into various subjects. Encouraging open participation, attendees were free to contribute with comments and key takeaways on a shared board.
Following each meeting, a retrospective session was conducted to evaluate both positive and negative aspects, with the aim of continually enhancing the project’s format.
