DESCRIPTION //
Datafication is the process that transforms human experiences and their contexts into data. In the current age virtually every aspect of our lives (behaviors, spaces, flows, objects) can be turned into data.
Through a dialogue involving a jurist, an artist, a designer, a digital humanist and a technology scholar, the methods and rules by which the process of datification is carried out has been discussed.
Speakers: Simone Bonavita (University of Milan), Daniele Bucci (Designer), Stefano Capezzuto (Digital Humanist), Oriana Persico (Artist).
Coordinator and moderator: Francesco Parisi (University of Messina).
Scientific and organizational committee: Alessandro De Cesaris, Carlo von Guggenberg, Angela Michelis, Gabriele Vissio.
The meeting was part of the activities related to LARTEC – Laboratory of Arts and Techniques, a project made by Cespec (Centro Studi sul Pensiero Contemporaneo) that investigates the relationship between nature and design, starting from the concept of design as a way of planning the life of subjects, the structure of society, the multiple forms of interaction between the human, technology and nature.
